Hi and thanks for visiting our website!
As a pastor I have no doubt that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is relevant today, but it seems difficult to find a relevant church in today's postmodern world. Don't get me wrong, at Stones River we're not perfect and we don't have everything figured out but we are trying to learn everything we can and to live in His love everyday. Every week brings new challenges to our lives and God desires for us to grow through them. When we gather to worship and study together, our primary goals are three-fold: to love one another, to love God, and to glorify Him through our lives. Every Sunday as I look out over the wonderful faces in our congregation, it is my prayer that together we can discover the lasting truths about God that can keep our faith strong and relevant in today's culture.
We read in I Timothy 2:4 that God "wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth" (NLT). That is a desire that I share as does the family of believers that makes up Stones River Baptist Church. When guests join us for worship or Bible study I know that there is within them a desire to gain a deeper understanding of God and develop a greater relationship with Him. I've been there and that same desire keeps me coming back to the well of His grace even after 20 years in the ministry.
